Family of Samuel Bird confirms remains have been found


October 16, 2025 (Treaty No. 6 Territory) — The Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations offers their deepest condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of Samuel Bird.


The family of Samuel Bird has confirmed his remains have been found. Edmonton Police Services have charged one man in connection to his homicide.


The family has expressed their appreciation for all the messages of condolence and ask for privacy during their time of grieving. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted in the search efforts for Samuel, helped spread awareness and offered emotional and spiritual support.


The family of Samuel Bird will not be taking interview requests at this time.
